KEY DATES

The key dates below reflect major milestones throughout the course of the Swifthold Foundation’s efforts to obtain justice and satisfaction of its judgment against Sheikh Fahad bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Thani and his company, Fast Trading Group.

July 7, 2010 The Swifthold Foundation filed the particulars claims against Fast Trading Group.
October 31, 2011 The U.K. High Court issued a $4 billion, plus interest against Fast Trading Group.
November 24, 2015 The U.K. High Court amended the judgment by adding Sheikh Fahad bin Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Thani Al-Thani as a judgment debtor. 
September 12, 2018 The U.K. High Court refreshed the judgment and fixed the interest amount, resulting in the judgment’s value being nearly $6 billion. 
January 20, 2019 The Swifthold Foundation filed its recognition action in Doha, Qatar.
February 11, 2019 The first hearing was held for the recognition action in Doha, Qatar.  The defendants failed to appear.
March 11, 2019 The second hearing was held for the recognition action in Doha, Qatar.  The defendants failed to appear.
April 14, 2019 The third hearing was held for the recognition action in Doha, Qatar.  The defendants failed to appear and the Court set the a hearing for default judgment for April 28, 2019.
April 28, 2019 The Qatari Court issued a judgment ordering the enforcement of the U.K. High Court Judgment. 
July 4, 2019 The Qatari Court on its own motion is now contacting various agencies and financial institutions to commence enforcement against the defendants’ assets.
